I am so sorry that I have been MIA the last couple of weeks.

Jef was away for business and it was just nutty here. The regular life stuff and then add in trying to learn to sew/embroider, sick kids, visiting mother and then sick me. So I just didn't make it online much except for here and there on my phone. So I am happy that things are getting back to normal here and I can see what is going on with everyone at PP. :)

On the bright side, I finally got my rings back from the jeweler. I ended up redesigning my engagement ring and I was super excited. I think it came out nicely. My family, however, disagrees and liked the old setting better (my husband doesn't like change and I think the kids just backed him up b/c they felt badly that I changed his ring). Oh well. The only one who seems to like it besides me is Rosie. Since I have learned my lesson, she is not going to get near it this time!! Poor thing, who can blame a girl for liking some bling? ;)

I'm happy to see you're back! Life can get hectic, that's for sure! I bet Rosie would LOVE to get a taste of the new design on your ring! :th_biggrin:

Welcome back Kendra! We have missed you :(

Sounds like you have had a crazy couple of weeks :(

I am pleased you have your ring back, but sorry to hear your family does not like the new design. I would love to see a pic of it now :)

Thanks ladies! I'm so happy to be back.

We leave for our spring break cruise in a few weeks, but besides that I should be on more. :). That is actually why I was teaching myself to sew. We are doing a Secret Santa type thing with some other families from dis boards. So you need to have what they call a fish extender outside your door for people to put the gifts in. I decided not to buy one from etsy and try to make it myself. So I got a myself a machine for my birthday and did my best. It is My first project and it is far from perfect. I think it came out pretty cute though.

Wendy, I have had a hard time getting the details of the ring to show on pics. This is probably the best I can get of it:

The center stone is the one Jef gave me and the two side stones were earrings my mom gave me when I turned 16. Thought it was a nice way to use them since I haven't worn them in years. :)

Thanks Wendy! I wish Jef and the urchins agreed about the ring. ;)

Your sewing project came out wonderful! What about the ring do the urchins not like?! It's beautiful!!

Thanks! I did my best with it. Hopefully the pockets will hold up. :)

Thanks, I like it. I think they were backing Jef up since he doesn't really like it. Both kids think I should have kept the setting the way it was. Two of the side stones were crushed. Since I never loved the setting & stones had to be replaced, I thought I would change it up a bit. Never knew I would hit so much resistance!!!

Oh such a gorgeous ring!! I don't know what it looked like before, but I love this design! :th_heart: And your first attempt at sewing looks great too. I really like your "Fish Extender" and I have never heard of one before, but then I don't get near cruise ships or deep water. LOL
