Walked outside and this is what greeted me. Wish my place was fenced in so I could have one.

Wow, Debra, that is pretty amazing :) If I had have seen this in my garden, I would have thought it escaped from the zoo. Paignton zoo is just a couple of streets away from me :)
A painted donkey! So cool! I agree, there is nothing like living in the country!

Well don't know why your photo is not coming up for me here. My internet is acting up again and it must be why, but I did see the donkey on FB last night so I know what the 'Ghost Donkey' is supposed to look like.:th_LOL: He is adorable and I love his color. I've always loved paint horses & dogs the best anyway.
I love living in the country too, have most of my life. Grew up living in the country chasing any critter I could find trying to catch it to take home for a pet. :) I owned horses when I was muxch younger, but would not keep them nowadays. Just too much work taking care of one for me anymore. :(
About a mile from me a guy raises donkeys and each spring he has lots of babies. They are the cutest things with their long ears & gangly legs. For the last two years he has had a couple of female Llamas in the pasture too. Last spring one had a baby, but a couple of months later we had a heavy rain and it disappeared. I don't know if it got separated from its Mom and a coyote got it or if it drowned, but I sure missed it. I wanted to watch it grow.

Oh my goodness that must have really been a surprise. Where did the mule come from?

He came from the pasture next door. My neighbor raises them. This guy has gotten out several times lately. I think he's cute.
