Do your birds prefer certain colored pellets? Is there a certain color they won't eat?

Jester eats Higgins InTune pellets, and he prefers to eat all the red pellets first. Then he'll eat all the yellow, then the orange. He does not like the green ones. He dumps them out or just leaves them in his bowl!

Peatree eats Fruity Zupreem. She doesn't seem to have a favorite color. She'll eat them all except for the purple. She refuses to eat the purple pellets!

I'm curious to know if your birds have a preference as well!

I don't use the fruit blend pellets because they contain more sugar. So no colors here... Much of the time for my guys it's lots of Zupreem Natural in their boring shade of gold :)

Hmmm, do my feathered brats have a preference in colors of pellets? Nope, they're not prejudice. They readily toss any & every color out equally to the floor!!:th_loltears: If I were to take a photo of their paper you would see a rainbow of color, kinda' like a bag of Skittles in every enclosure. :th_LOL:

I have bought just about every kind of pellets on the market and they eat what they want when they want, but not because of colors. When they do eat some I have seen everyone of them eating various colors. There are some brands they just dearly hate, but I have yet to find one they dearly love. Did I mention they are feathered brats? LOL I don't worry tho since they get a big variety of different foods and they are definitely not on the verge of starvation. :th_wink:

One of the vets here said a long time ago not to feed colored pellets as it is hard on the kidneys filtering out that stuff.
