March Photo Competition (Cuddle Shots)

OK folks, it is time to get the March Photo Competition started.:woohoo-dancing-bana

The subject matter chosen by Mare (Mare) for the March competition will be: ~~Cuddle Shots~~This month we are looking for a photo of your bird loving on either you or another bird. And it can be a photo of your bird loving on a favorite toy, blanket, snuggle hut, etc. :th_biggrin:

The prize for this month's Photo Competition is very graciously donated by Maddy (Maddy). She will be offering the winner one of her beautiful Feather Paintings of the bird of your choice. These Feather Paintings are awesome folks!! Maddy is an exceptional artist and this will be something you will cherish forever.:th_heart:

The rules are pretty simple:

1. Only one entry per member per competition.

2. Please include a little info and names about your bird(s) along with the photo. It will be used
to identify your entry on the poll along with your username. Also please give a little detail as to why you chose your entry photo to show us your birds cuddliest side.

3. No copy write photos. Please make sure you are the owner of
the photo you enter.

4. Please, no photos that clearly endangers anyone or animal in any way that may be in your entry photo.

5. All photos to be entered in the competition need to be posted in this thread.

6. And the most important rule of all~~Lets Have Fun!!!~~

The competition starts today, the 6th of March and runs til the 21st of March.

The 22nd of March a poll will be added by Debra with all of the photos in order of their posted date.

The poll will run for one week and will close on the 29th of March, unless otherwise noted.

I will announce the winner of the competition and post the winning photo on the 1st of April.
The winner of this competition gets to choose the subject/theme for the April Photo Competition.

Great subject for our competition this month Mare!

I found one I really love of Miss Ruby Jewel, my 1 1/2 yr old Green Wing Macaw and me. This was taken back last summer a few months after she flew home to me from Washington state. Ruby Jewel is a super loving girl, she is a true cuddle bug. Her breeder Kitty made sure of that! She really spoiled her the almost 8 months she spent with Kitty before she was weaned. She is my dream bird and I couldn't have asked for a better one than my Ruby Jewel. :th_heart::th_gwm:

OK folks, at the moment we do not have a prize donated by anyone for this month's competition. This is a fun activity we all enjoy entering and posting in. A prize for entering the best photo is always appreciated. Donating a prize is strictly volunteer and anyone who is a member can volunteer to donate to this month or a future month that works better for you. :)

Thank you Blanca, Ruby Jewel has far surpassed my expectations of Green Wings. I knew they were supposed to be gentle and sweet, but I never knew she would have such a different personality than Roscoe. I love them both dearly, but there is a tremendous difference in the two species. :th_biggrin:

I have a question about this month's subject. Must they be our birds or can they be birds that we once owned but are now rehomed? I've got some pics of baby tiels on me that were hatched out in my house a couple of years ago. I found them all nice homes so technically they aren't my birds.

Debra, of course you can use the photos of your tiels you once owned. The photos are yours that you took. That is the main thing I stress that the photos either belong to the entrant or you have permission to use them here. :)

I remember Dianne winning the first competition with a photo of a butterfly. I don't think she owned that winged creature. LOL Just being silly here. Yes, please do use your fabies you raised and found wonderful homes for. What better way to honor their loving memory you still have of them and the time you shared with the darlings. :th_hug8:

Ok folks, you can't possibly tel me this is all the cuddle shots anyone has in their myriad of photo files on their A#1 subject~~Their feathered kids?!!! I should hope before this competition is over nearly every member proudly displays their 'Cuddle Bug'!! If you love your parrots this is the best way I know to show the rest of the world, by putting it's photo on here for all the cyber world to see. :)

I have better pics than this but I'm going to submit this one for it's meaning to me. When I took this pic, a life altering event had just happened in my life and I was the most down that I had ever been. I was sitting on the deck and Amigo flew in. He could feel my sadness and just hung out with me. Normally he would fly in to try and hump some area of my person but on this day,,he seemed to know, I just needed a hug..

This is the only pic I have of Codie being cuddled. He was just 8 weeks old and still with the breeder. He snuggled into me as if to say... "Are you going to be my new mummy" Of course, I knew straight away that Codie was meant to be mine :) I have never been able to cuddle him since, he is just not a cuddly bird!
