I continue my rant to people to not buy this brand of any bird food they make. Kaytee is the bottom of the bottom when it comes to quality. So here is a prime example. They also have bird mills in Florida under different names to raise all those pet store budgies.

I have never used it myself. I always buy Harrisons.

I've always used zupreem with good results. Unfortunately, the only pellets they will eat are the fruity ones. But at least they are getting their pellets in so I can be happy about that.

Yikes! Thanks, Wendy, people definitely need to know this! Last week, husband brought home some Kaytee brand packaged millet sprays, for Chip. He's doing well but this is very scary to hear about!

Oh this is just terrible!! You buy foods that are supposed to be healthy for your birds and instead it kills them overnight!! :( Kaytee has had recalls before for various reasons. A couple of years ago while I was still feeding the formula to Roscoe and then Leyla Belle when they first came home I had to take an almost full bag back to Petsmart for a full refund due to a recall.
I have bought Kaytee in the past, but my birds never cared for it. Debra, mine are the same, if they are going to eat any pellets at all it is the fruity flavored Zupreem. When I buy from the pet shops I get that and the nut flavored and veggie flavored Zupreem pellets. Most still goes on the floor, but I do catch them eating a few bites before raking the rest out. Sierra eats pellets the best and she was weaned to eating Zupreem~~Phe[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks] it wasn't Kaytee!!
