We had shorts and flip flops weather Saturday. On Sunday we had a cold front come through. It brought an inch or two of ice/sleet. Lost electricity around 7 last night and it's still off. Birds made it through the night and they have heat thanks to my brothers generator. We are now sitting in the car to get warm and charge up our phones. They cancelled school today so we don't have to go to work thankfully. I hope we get power soon though. This is rare for March.

Sorry to hear about your weather Deb! I hope your power comes back on soon!
It is a lovely sunny day here for a change, although it is very cold!

Just went in to check on the birds and do a head count. Frankie and Lucy want out of their cages so bad. It's a shame they don't play well with others.

The road in front of my house. That's all ice not snow. This just doesn't happen in Texas.

I know! Oh and I know one reason people still have no power. We just saw about 6 of their trucks at a liquor store. Lol

Weather here is starting to get hot. Really hot. Although, we've also had a couple of nice days.

It's been cooooold up here all winter. Below zero regularly. It's supposed to be cold but not this cold constantly. We've gotten little snow and too much ice. I can't wait for spring!!
Is your power back Deb??

No it isn't. No power, hot water line frozen, and a migraine all day. So ready for this to be over.

I bet you are. So sorry you have to go through this. :(
Spring is about here in Central Cali. We've had some much needed rain, recently, and the days have been partly cloudy for the past two days but the temp has been in the 70's. The oak trees are starting to bud and Amigo has been enjoying the buds and flowers in the apricot trees. I really can't complain but sure hope everyone else's winter starts to mellow out, soon!

Send some of that warm weather my way Mare! LOL. I got to work only to be sent back home because all of the rural roads are still too bad for buses to go down.
Yes, definitely some crazy weather you all are getting back eastward! Hang in there, I can feel it heading your way! :)
This is the apricot tree that Amigo was chowing down on, yesterday. Sorry I didn't get a pic when he was in it. He spent about 40mins. in it, slowly walking through the branches, chewing on flowers and new leaf.

Debra hope your electricity is back on by now. That sucks when you have no power and especially when it is crappy weather! :th_hug8: I'm thinking the power company had to stop by the liquor store to get something to warm their blood up before going out to stare at the down power lines.:th_LOL:
We have a day or two of 80s, then back down to the low 30s. This is typical of our winter weather and we do have negative temps when the cold winds blow down through the plains states since I'm higher up & farther west in the state than you are Debra. It just seems that this year the winds were especially cold and had a nasty bite to it! And my supervisors seemed to have made sure I was working out in it every time it got down to a -9*F!! My sinuses are still not back to normal since this past week of work and I was standing in those temps in the wee early hours. :( Me thinks they do this to me cause I'm one of the few officers who brings in plenty of extra clothing such as coveralls, jackets and coats to stave off the cold. I still have to have my eyes uncovered to see those darn IDs and that is why my sinuses suffered the freeze!! I think I counted 7 layers of clothing on me that morning. I felt like the 'Pillsbury Dough Boy' trying to waddle about! :th_rofl:

Yes, we got our power back on Tuesday night after we had gone to bed. I was never so happy to be awakened by the light as I was that night. We will be up to 70 this upcoming week which is good because it's Spring Break and we will be off (I actually get 2 weeks off due to my surgery). I can't wait!
