i really love beaker, he brings so much joy to my life, and i'd love to add another bird. the thing is i am scared that either beaker will bond with the other bird and then ignore me, or they won't get along and that would mean that both beaker and the other bird could only be out of the cage(s) half of the time that beaker is usually out....

anyway, just waiting for the right bird. this one will be a re-home or a rescue. and it will come when the time is right...that is always how it goes.

I am sure Beaker would love a companion. I am not sure if he would make friends with the new one, but I think he would still keep his bond with you!

i hope so. as i said, it will happen, just waiting for the right one that needs a soft place to land. beaker isn't a rescue or re-home, but most of my pets are.

Shelly, I have several birds in my flock. Some large ones and some smaller ones. Since I have limited time to spare for mine to be out of their enclosures, I remedy that by giving each one their own play perch with a bit of distance between each. None of mine really care to interact with the next one and they certainly don't want to share their perch. Each one knows the portable play perch they get on daily belongs to them as much as they know their own cage. :th_biggrin:

Just thought I'd give you my experience with more than one bird. I'm excited to see what bird picks you out and to hear all about its background. Oh please let us know when this happens and lots of photos of your future sweetie. :th_biggrin:
