I am sure all our birds make one particular sound that drives us crazy :th_biggrin: Codie is constantly imitating the beep of the microwave!!

What sound drives you crazy?

My Zoe imitates the sound of someone thoroughly enjoying "private moments". I have to specify that she came to us with this behavior. It was funny until she did it in front of my mother

That's awesome, George! So funny! Sassy does this SOUND that I couldn't pinpoint until my daughter pointed it out. Katie and I were driving somewhere one day and we got on to the bird subject, somehow, and she says, "You know that sound that Jim Carry makes in the movie, 'Dumb and Dumber' where he asks his driving buddy, 'do you want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?'. I say, "Yeah, I remember". She says, "Well, that sounds exactly like Sassy!" I had to agree! :)

Some great and annoying sounds!

The sound that is making me crazy as of late is Rosie yelling "O[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]!" in her loudest voice. Which is an imitation of me when she nips my neck or ear. Sometimes she does it while clamping on. Totally my fault, I didn't heed the no reaction advice.

its kind of annoying(yet funny) when cooper does something he knows he is supposed to, and then he yells "bad bird!" and starts laughing. not so much just the noise, but the whole thing is annoying(but like a said also kinda funny)

Sassy does this, ( not annoying) laugh, Kenny! She will get going with a huge, from the gut laugh, that you cannot help but imitate! I think our birds not only irritate us with their noise but also make us laugh! :)

Frankie laughs very often. He will mumble to himself and start laughing. This often leads to louder, from the gut laugh. That usually gets us laughing which ramps up his laughing. It can get annoying when you are watching tv or on the phone.

Leyla Belle's scream is so raspy and crow like sounding that it grates on my nerves way more than the macaws when they scream. None of the macaws make weird sounds. They are either talking or screaming, but nothing like sounds in the house they hear.

Codie also imitates the doorbell! This can be very frustrating, especially when I answer it and no-one is there :th_hehe:

Frankie imitates a squeaky door. We've since fixed the squeak, but whenever he sees anyone going through it and he doesn't want then to, he makes the squeaky door noise.

None of my birds imitate anything that I find annoying, but sometimes Jester's scream really gets on my nerves!

But how do you not yell "O[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]" when a macaw is ripping your jugular out?

Lol, Lori!

She started a game with my son where she runs/waddles over nips his sweatshirt, yells O[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks] and laughs like a loon. ;)

Sassy is now imitating Amigo's "Hi There" and she will do it when I KNOW Amigo is outside but makes me run to his window to see if he wants in!

Mine don't imitate any particular sounds. They just talk up a storm or scream with pleasure when they feel the need. LOL

Mina imitates a wolf whistle only she HATES it when I do this so each time she does the sound she puffs up really big and rocks back and forth she looks like a Macy's day parade balloon. Then she looks at me like how dare u make that sound. Which I didn't so we have to start in with the cockatoo muttering and the head back and forth. So I have to break it all by saying yum yum yum your good enough to eat. Then she repeat that back and the spell is broken. Otherwise we would be stuck on the wolf whistle glaring thing for and hour 😳

Clover makes this really high pitch, and I mean HIGH pitch, whistle. Doesn't really bother me but it drives one of my dogs crazy. He'll just sit there and whine when Clover does it.

It doesn't drive us nuts. It is actually cute, but odd. Starburst mimics the clicking of the stove every morning when we go to cook breakfast. Lol.
