My hubby likes for me to bake cookies for him every weekend so that he has something to snack on. So far I've made cherry/white chocolate, pineapple, blueberry, almond, banana, pecan, and peanut butter blossoms along with the more common chocolate chip, oatmeal, and snickerdoodles. I'm looking for new and exciting recipes we haven't tried yet. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I'm also looking for some that you don't have to form into a ball, but can just drop onto the cookie sheet so I can make some for him when I have my surgery.

I found this on Pinterest, haven't tried them yet but they sure look good! I was going to suggest, (the kids call them snowball cookies), Russion Teacakes are what they are called in my Betty Crocker cookbook. They ARE delicious but you do have to roll out balls :(

It won't be any good me giving you recipes as you have different flour over there and different measurements :( I will ask Tasha though. I know she is always baking :)

Thank you Wendy! My banana cookie recipe actually came from a friend in Australia believe it or not.

Over here, we have self raising flour and plain flour! I believe you have something called, all purpose flour in the USA? I can give you lots of recipes, but you would have to try and convert the measurements :)

We have two kinds of flour also. Self rising and all purpose. I'm thinking that might be the same as your plain. I've got a friend that is from Texas but living in the UK. I can ask her if there's a difference. Hmmmm........

I know my daughter Tash who is in Texas has had to rethink everything to do with baking. She tells me that the flour over there is just not the same. Ask your friend and see what she says?

We also have a more refined flour for specialty desserts. I'm not sure what it is called exactly as I have never bought it, but have seen it. I think some stores sell it as cake flour and it is supposed to be very fine and lighter than the normal flour. But then I mostly shop at Ye Old Wally World, better known as Walmart for virtually all my supplies for the house and they don't always carry the finer things in life. :)
Wish I could help you with new recipes on cookies Debra as far as proven ones. My Jerry & Jory when he was home liked my peanut butter cookies the best and my brownies. I did usually make chocolate chip cookies when I made any as I am not fond of peanut butter. I have a lot of recipes stuffed in a bag I will have to go through and see if there is anything that sounds like your Jerry would enjoy. That's how much I use recipes, "stuffed in a bag", not put neatly in a binder so I can easily find a recipe when I venture into the kitchen and actually bake from scratch for us. :th_LOL:

I was going to mention pinterest as a great place to find new recipes. Although I have not used pinterest, I have heard many good things about the site!

He's decided on the Russian Teacakes and peanut butter cookies. But keep those thinking caps on. I still need recipes for the next weeks cookies. lol

Ok, Wendy. Get to sending those recipes. My friend told me that all purpose flour is the same as your plain flour. I will just have to figure out the measurement differences. lol

Pinterest is an AWESOME sight! You can type in whatever recipes you are interested in, cookies, chicken, Mexican, anything really even travel destinations! I've never made anything I've found there, that wasn't amazing :)

Haha! I did the best of both worlds. I found a recipe that sounded good (white chocolate, macadamia, cranberry cookies) and went to pinterest and searched for it. Found it with American measuring! I'll have a look at the other sites soon. Thank you both!
