So I keep reading stories of birds throwing things and they have me giggling like crazy.
I am curious, when your birds throw things how do they do it? Rosie is a hugely messy dropper and pushes food out of her bowl with her beak. But she doesn't really throw. I am so curious since my girl doesn't do it and I have a hard time picturing it. It would complete the mental picture I get when reading stories. :)

Well, mine don't throw their food or toys either. The macaws use their beaks and rake the food out either in one fell swoop or at times in a back & forth motion. Toys are dismantled and just dropped to the floor when they don't like them or tire of them.
Leyla Belle, my ekkie picks up food she doesn't want in her bowl and drops it straight down. If it is something I just put in from outside her cage she will race over to grab it quickly and drop it in a fit of anger that I should dare not ask permission first. LOL Sierra my pionus drops food from her claws after finishing what she wants from it and Peta just leaves it all in the bowl. Nothing gets tossed in her cage except by me.
I have read that some birds actually toss toys in anger and in play with their owners. I think mine are too lazy to make the effort to play that way. I did catch Roscoe chewing on a piece of his shower curtain cover one day. When I asked Him what he was doing, he literally threw it down out of his foot and exclaimed, "Oh Hello." :)

Jack and Salsa plunge a foot into their food bowls, grab a foot-fist full of whatever the contents is, then hurl it forth across the room. Zaf throws his ball toys to me by tossing them with his beak. Maynard just scoops pellets/food items out of his bowl and onto the floor with his beak.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that Jack will rush over to take a piece of food that I'm offering him just so he can rip it from my hand and violently throw it down. And he does this with things he really likes to eat. But if instead I place the same food items in his bowl, he'll pick them up and eat them. When I hand something to him and he throws it down, he'll look me square in the eye as if to say, "hahaha! so what are you gonna do about it?"

Codie dunks all his wooden blocks in his water and then throws them at me with his beak :)
If he is in one of his little moods, he stands in his food bowl and flicks it all out with his feet :th_hehe:
