It's the best silly song ever! One of the songs I have loved since childhood. I find myself singing it at odd times. My mother was so annoyed with me bc I sang it when visiting her this weekend and it has been stuck in her head since. :)

I will have to be at home on my computer before I can post my choices~~I mean ask my feathered kids what they want me to post as their songs. :)

By the way Wendy~~You have 'stolen' my one thread I have thought up. My Internet has still been a pain in the arse and I haven't started it. But I was thinking on one for a couple of weeks titled: What video song best describes your bird. This is just as good as my idea and covers it as well. ((Hugs))

Zaf has had the same theme song since around 2006. It's not a rock video song, or even one by a musical group. It's one that I made up and started whistling to him back then and it just stuck. But it's more or less a private thing between him and me, so I've not recorded it or shared it with anyone. Well I don't have a theme video for all my birds picked out yet. But I have one I have been thinking about for a couple of weeks that I feel would be Angel's song if he could pick his own. As most of you here know Angel is my special boy, my oldest Catalina macaw. He was born with a defect to his leg and wing joints which prevents him from ever being able to stand on his feet or fly like his ancestors that have gone before him. He is no trouble at all to have in my life, he can climb and use his feet very well. I love him so much I could not ever think of life without him.:th_hug8::th_heart:

I chose the song and video by Kelly Clarkson, "Breakaway" due to the lyrics. Every time I hear it I think of Angel and how it would describe his feelings if he could one day be able to "Spread his wings and learn how to fly". The part about touching the sky brings a tear to my eyes when I think how he would be smiling as he soared upwards "Out of the darkness and into the sun". To me that is symbolic of him breaking free of his chains and being held prisoner by his disabilities and me. The part of the song, "I won't forget the people I love" I feel he would be saying about me and his home he has had with me. I know some day he will get his wish when he flies over The Rainbow Bridge. Until then I picture him dreaming of "Breaking Away" and being completely free.

Angel is all macaw and has the fun loving side to him, plus he can be a bit impish as well. But unlike Roscoe who is full of himself, selfish and rotten, Angel has a calm gentleness to him. When he doesn't want me to touch him or take him out of his enclosure he will gently take hold of my fingers and push them away. No grabbing and biting hard like Mister Brat Roscoe. Now if Angel gets mad and I have seen him really mad a few times, he will try to take a good bite out of me, he's just easier to dodge. It is a rare occasion with him getting that mad. :)

De'Andrea... that's such a beautiful song and one that's perfectly fitting for Angel and the way you feel about him. I can absolutely relate to your description of how it applies so well to him and his situation. In one respect, every one of these guys who we love so dearly are veritable prisoners... then when you add in any inhibiting physical defects they may possess, their chains become all the more hardened and heavy :(

I didn't mean to make folks cry, but it does make me cry as well. Partly in a sad way and partly in a good way in that I feel even our parrots can & do dream of a life so different than we can give them. But due to the love we give to them, most choose to stay with us out of love and accept us as part of their flock.:th_heart:

Thanks Mare it is perfect for Angel. And he is actually a he named Angel. LOL I didn't name him or Roscoe his brother. Their breeder already had them named when I found her site and decided to get Roscoe.

Well it took 4 times of reloading and about 3 hours between, but I finally got your video to load so I could hear it Mare. :th_faint: My internet is a PIA again this morning. I can see why a Too would love the song you chose for Sassy. :th_hehe: Walk Off The Earth are some strange Cats for sure!! I really like their video of "Somebody That I Used To Know". It is amazing to me to watch all of them playing on one instrument. :th_biggrin:

I used to have a RB2 called Rosie. She is the one on our banner. Sadly, my daughter Tiegan was seriously allergic to the dander dust. Her face swelled up like a balloon. I did not even give it a thought on this being the reason why! Obviously, once I took her to the Dr's and the test results came back, this is what the cause was :( I was gutted over it as I loved my little Rosie!
