this poor little girlie has had a very rough start in life. She was abandoned in a box in a vet's office. The office clerk found her under a chair as she was closing up. She brought her to Debbie's house (a lady I know from another board) as Debbie has other birds. Debbie immediately knew that what she got was an unweaned baby tiel , obviously badly plucked by its parents or siblings..She immediately started to hand feed. The baby was very skinny..Debbie brought her to the vet and the vet concurred..she was only 5-6 weeks old, but other wise in fantastic shape..just malnourished and badly plucked. She weighed 72 grams at that time and has gained 8 grams under Debbie's care. She has been off hand feeding for two weeks now so she is no more than 10 weeks old..She has the worst clip I have ever seen in my life..someone just butchered her wings..one is so short and someone took scissors to it..& is just about to the blood feathers..Debbie was looking around for a good home for her as Debbie already has a GCC & is getting a too next week. Debbie lives only an hour away so I just saw her picture and just COULD NOT RESIST.. A girlie in need. She looks like something the cat dragged in for sure but that will change. She is pretty shy but steps up..We put her in Mitchi'e old cage and she started exploring immediately. I think Mitchie would approve...and eating like an absolute piggy. DFub is over talking to her now. She is actually bigger than Sam..but needs a lot of love and scritches. Debbie called her Baby so we are calling her Lady Babette or as Dub is calling her right now his baby girl. Baby is the one in the front (Maxwells i closer to the other c age)..you can see in the pic how bad her wing clip is..[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks] ([Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks])

Poor Baby girl, I'm happy to see she's made her way to you, Anne. When I think about who would do something like that, leave a bird in a box, I suppose this person may have thought this bird would have a better chance anywhere else besides with them. Lucky little bird! :)
