Hey there, I'm not too sure how to put this out there but I'm going to give it a try :). I have a friend, he is my niece's boyfriend, who is a very talented artist. Some of you may have seen the painting I had him do of Amigo. He just moved to Cali from Michigan, a few months ago, and is trying to make a living doing what he does, art..as usual, it seems, most artists are starving artists so, I'm putting a word out there, for him.

Here is the painting I had him do of Amigo, (24x18, oil on canvas)

It is a perfect rendition of Amigo. It was my friends first bird, ever, and he even got the light blue color around Amigo's eye area.

This is a recent painting he just finished for another customer, (oil on canvas)

His name is Troy Hubbs and he is still working on his animal portraits Web sight. It will contain a collection of his work. He does so much more than only animals and uses many more mediums other than, oil on canvas.

If anyone is interested in having a beloved pet immortalized, please feel free to PM me and I will give you his contact information. Thanks :)

WOW, the quality of his paintings is amazing Mare. He is very talented.
Sadly, because I'm unemployed, I do not have the money to order things like these paintings.
I hope though, your advertisement for him at PP will give him some cliënts.

Greetings from the Netherlands,
Rita

Thank you, Rita. Unfortunately, money is an issue for many folks :(. I do wish him well. Oh, I meant to say, originally,,,

"If anyone is interested in having a beloved pet, PERSON, PLACE or THING immortalized"! I've seen a piece he did of a ghetto city building, the windows boarded up and graffiti on the walls, it felt like you could have been actually standing there looking at it, it was that REAL!

Anyways, you know where to find me if you or anyone you know, may be interested. Thanks, so much!

Those are super great paintings Mare!! Troy is an excellent artist and that being his first bird is really great. :) I've seen accomplished long standing artist who could not do as good a job recreating a painting from a photo.

I would love to have some painting, but not a good time for something like that. I will keep Troy in mind and I wish him the very best and hope he gets a showing with someone that can open the door for him. He deserves to become internationally famous with his talent!! :th_biggrin:
