OMG! That is such a tearjerker. Made me think of the rehomes I have. Two of them came with baggage. Lucy was kept in a cage way too small for her and Little Amber was kept in a kitchen in a cage that had the paint peeling off and one leg broken. She plucked as a result and she has these tremors where it makes it hard for her to hold food in her foot. When she gets nervous her head starts bobbing up and down too. It's different from the quaker quake I think. I feel I rescued these two souls and I wouldn't trade them for anything - Lucy bites and all.

A very well versed and poignant poem. Really hits home with the ones we choose to share our lives with who are not quite so perfect, not quite so pretty and cuddly. There is something very special, the bond you create with one of these 'suitcase carrying' parrots.:th_hug8:
