Old souls..

Every once in a while, some person will make a comment, "you have an old soul". I had heard this from the time when I was young. I'm really not THAT old but have always found it a curious statement. Does this mean, wise beyond your years? Does it mean you have been here before? What are your thoughts?

When I'm with my birds, I feel their wisdom, try and relax around it, this can sometimes be impossible to do BUT! to me they have very old souls.

To me it means pretty much what it means to Steve. Your body may be young, but you are wise beyond your years. I have heard that often as well, and my son is definitely an old soul. 45 year old in an 11 year olds body. :)

My daughter has an old soul. To me, also, it has always meant someone who has been around, in this universe, for quite a while. When my daughter was born, I felt this about her, she is now 32yrs. old. There has always been a kind of wisdom about her, although her love life is always a mess, I think she has been here longer than me!

I think it means being reincarnated, maybe more times than once and with that you have seen, felt and done many things. Along with it you have carried a large amount of wisdom you learned, lived through and observed while living in your past lives into your present life.

I do believe in reincarnation and I feel I have lived before. I don't have the knowledge of who or what I was. It is just a feeling that I have and some little thing triggers that feeling and brings back a memory from a past life. I also feel much of my abilities given artistic, connecting with my animals/birds, and other aspects of my present life is due to past lives and the things I learned from my elders (be they animal or human) while inhabiting those lives.
