I'll start. I'm not sure how unique this is... but Salsa is the only one of mine who does it. Whenever I hand him a piece of food (e.g., a nut, a piece of pasta, a piece of fruit, etc.), he'll reach up and grab it with his foot, not with his beak. He then proceeds to eat it. It's like handing a person (or perhaps a monkey) a piece of food. My other 3 initially take food with their beaks then place it into their foot grasp. Salsa also pulls food out of his food bowl with his foot to bring it up to his beak instead of picking it out of the bowl with his beak.

Whenever I am saying new words to Chipper he gets very close to me as if to hear me better. He especially does this when I whistle. By very close I mean close enough to touch my lips.

Nice idea for a thread.

Little Chip, who is very hands off, will fly to a shoulder to see what you are eating. He is funny that way. He'll hang out there as long as you don't try to touch him. It's rather cute, his braveness, but he won't let you near him otherwise.

Leyla Belle will lean forward toward me and turn one eye in a parallel manner to my face when she is listening intently to a phrase I am trying to teach her. The only time she displays this behavior with me is when she is interested in learning what I am saying to her. The other birds all look at me, turn their heads, squawk a bit or ignore me. They are definitely not attuned to my effort like my ekkie girl is.:th_hug8:

Each morning I have banana on toast for breakfast and Codie waits patiently for his piece! I put it in his bowl and he sits there watching me. As soon as I pick mine up to eat it, Codie picks his piece up too. If I put mine down, he does the same. It is hilarious :th_biggrin:

Wendy you just have to get a video of Codie copying you with his toast!! That would be awesome to watch him like a little Mime following your every move. A video of that could go viral with you & Codie becoming famous. :th_biggrin:

Lola does a sort of an inverted bungee jump. She hangs upside down from her boing and flaps her wings vigorously...then stops. She loves bouncing up and down upside down

Sounds like Lola thinks the world looks like lots more fun upside down George. Maybe we should all try it & see it from a different perspective. :) I do believe I would come away with a headache and no new perspective other than to not try that again.:th_LOL:

I know this is not unique in the parrot world, but Roscoe does love to hang upside down with wings spread wide, grab his rope and play fight with it as he bats it away from him with his free foot that's not holding on. While he is doing this he is really giving it the what fors with the meanest gruffest sounds and a few real words thrown in. He loves to look out and see if I am watching as if he were doing something wonderful and proud of himself.:th_biggrin:

Angel's most fun thing to do is hang from the top wire in his enclosure by just his beak, flap his wings and yell over & over, "Hello!". I almost had heart failure when he first started doing this as he was barely holding on with the very tip of his beak. I just knew he would break the tip off, fall and hurt himself really bad. He never did while I was home watching. It is a regular morning ritual and welcome home for me in the mornings after returning from work these days from my Angel.:th_heart:

I have tried hiding it, but somehow he just knows its there :(

Maybe you should try hiding a video camera somewhere, Wendy :)

Maybe you should try hiding a video camera somewhere, Wendy :)I will try, but I swear he watches me like a hawk! The other day, he was having a full on conversation with himself, I got the video camera out, which is in the drawer of my computer desk and put a piece of paper around it so he could not see what it was. I put it on record mode and he went silent immediately :( Its almost as if he has a sixth sense. I would so love to get a video of him talking and eating his banana on toast :th_biggrin:

Maybe keep the camera in another room? He must know the sound of the drawer opening means "camera time". Smarty!!

Im a little stumped with this one :) I do have a psychic bird. My sunconure Gingee always jumps in her bowl and gives herself a bath . Right before I spray everyone down with my sprayer. Theirs no way she would know im going to do this. I do it at different times and its before I get the sprayer out.
