"Of Parrots and People " By Mira Tweti ? At the time I had only 3 birds [imagine that :th_biggrin:] .I hadn't hooked up my internet yet . Finding that bird fever was hitting me .I was searching for any and all info on birds. I came across this book. It had such a profound effect on me . I wish I still had the book [we could pass it around].To be honest their were parts in their I could not totally read. But the experience from this book made me . Feel very compassionate for our birds . I think its a must have if you own a parrot. Around me there are very few bird owners and rescues. Im so glad for the insite . please find this book.

I have never heard of or seen this book either. I will have to take a look at it as well. Thanks for telling us about it.

I don't have bird people around me either. My area is not big on parrots. I know folks own them, but I have no idea who they are or where they are at. I only know one person who lives close (150 miles) to me that has 3 macaws and 4 Amazons. I went to her house when she advertised on CL about starting a bird social gathering a couple of years ago. Turns out Jerry & I were the only ones out of 5 others who showed up and the rest only had to drive across town to get to her. Our trip was a 300 mile round trip, but it was fun meeting her, her hubby and their birds. She didn't have her last two macaws at that time. Wished she had as they are a pair and one is a GW, the other is a B&G. :) I have tried to get her to join here, but she is not into forums, just FB. :(
