My brother came to visit

My brother and his wife have been missionaries in China for three years. They came home for a visit and brought gifts. I wasn't able to see them last year due to health reasons and this year I have bronchitis. I wasn't going to miss seeing them two years in a row so I went for my visit. He showed us where he lives on google maps. I enjoyed myself so much! Anyway, they brought us a few things. This little painting is the most precious gift they gave us. They are friends with the artist. I think it is the most beautiful thing. We're going to mat it and some paper money together and have it framed. I'm so glad I felt up to visiting with them.

That painting it gorgeous Debra! What a wonderful gift your brother brought you. I bet he has seen so many awesome things while living in China. My hubby has a cousin who lives in the Dallas/Ft Worth area whose oldest son has been a Missionary in China for many years. It was always his favorite place to be. I'd love to visit China and Outer Mongolia.

I do love the Chinese Brush Paintings on Rice Paper. They are so simple, yet elegant. I have a book on Chinese Brush Painting and tried my hand at it several yrs ago. Did a nice job on the one I had started, then spilled something all over it. It upset me so much I have never gone back to trying it again.
