View Full Version : Zaffer: Having a Ball
Well, Zaffer's broken leg is all fixed :th_biggrin:. He's able to do everything he used to do now. He's given himself loads of physical therapy over the past few months and the muscle tone in his leg is now superb. His weight is back to normal and he's once again a lean and strong bird. He's the same active and fun loving bird that he was before his accident!
I've left the hospital carrier next to Zaf's couch because he flips out when I try to remove it. He considers it his 'play cave' and runs in and out of it all day. No harm done... if he wants it to remain there, then so be it! He became so used to climbing up on the carrier's door that it's now one of his favorite places to hang out. He has his little personal TV handily mounted to the wall by his couch and life is pretty good again :D
Check out his leg and foot action in the following video clip. You wouldn't know his leg was ever broken!

It is fantastic seeing Zaf completely back to normal again :th_dance4: I know in the beginning you were very doubtful as to whether Zaf's foot would ever heal, so you must be over the moon! He looks like he is having great fun with that ball :)

Absolutely Wendy! :D Zaf is his old self again, and I'm SO very thankful!!! :th_biggrin:I am pretty sure that your dedicated love and care while Zaf was recovering has played a major part in him being totally back to normal! It is a pity we don't all live near by, we could have had a birdie party to celebrate :desismileys_0606:

Zaf looks great !!! That must be a heavy carrier for it to hold him [cute he uses it as part of his play routine :)] Its funny what ive done to [I hope] to assist in my birds happiness. One of my cages was moved [to a weird spot for Christmas].My guy is so happy there!!So im leaving him . Who cares about furniture :) Its all about our birds :)

Thanks Kendra, Terri, Mare, Dianne, Debra, Maddy, and Wendy. Zaf is a sensitive bird, but he's also a bird who really enjoys life! He can go from a hyperactive play session into snugly cuddle bug mode in an instant. He's so much fun to be around. He's a truly amazing best friend :)

Zaf is awesome! He is certainly having a great time and I bet he's as happy to be well & all fixed up as you are that he healed. :)
I knew he could do it (heal completely). All he needed was time & special care from his best friend!!

And I'm immensely thankful that he's such a happy bird again :th_biggrin:. I actually thought he may drop dead that unbelievably terrible day when I brought him back from the vet clinic and he collapsed laying motionless for about an hour with an expression of utter terror on his face :'( ...but that's all in the past and he's fine now :). I just can't imagine living without my bouncy blue boy!
