You can hear Maxi say "Lekker hè" meaning "Nice huh". She really loves doing this and wanted to share her opinion about it with me! Sweet girl!
I hope you watch this video and like it. I'm looking forward to your responses at PP!

What a lovely video of Maxi. That is so cute with her rubbing her face on the sheepskin :)
You got it so right Maddy!
Yes indeed, she is gorgeous, sweet, fun and so much more.
And................... that sheepskin is her favourite "toy". It was never ment to be a toy, but Maxi desided this herself, which surprised me.
Greetings from the Netherlands,
Rita
Thank you very much Wendy. I do love this video very much too.

I guess you and others are surprised about this choice of Maxi too.
Well, maybe a nice gift idea. Buy your parrot a sheepskin as a present, to play weith it like my Maxi does.

That is a super cute video! She really loves that. How fun!
When Codie loves towl I tnink he will love a sheepskin too.
Maxi has nothing with towls and CAG Alex is scared for them.
Maxi isn't scared for towls though.

Hello Spiritbird,
Thanks for your compliments about my Maxi.
Yes, I was very surprised myself too, that she chose this sheepskin as her favourite toy.
You do not ecpect that, do you!
Greetings from the Netherlands,
Rita
Yes indeed Debra,
Maxi has a lot of fun when she plays with the sheepskin!

That is a super neat video Rita! You can certainly tell Maxi loves her unusual toy.
My macaws would have that sheepskin in shreds in a matter of minutes! I have some black sheepskin like that I've had for years, but I'm not going to let my brats get near it! LOL
Hello Turquoise,
(Sorry, you did tell me your real name. It started with "D'", but my memory doesn't go any further then that. Can you repeat your first name please!)
Thank you for your compliment about this video of Maxi. Yes indeed, it's an unusual toy but Maxi really loves it.
Macaws are 2 1/2 times larger and there beaks are too. So................... you do not even wanna try giving them a sheepskin. I understand it.

Rita, if you look to the left of the posts, there is a section that has each poster's real name. See if that helps you figure out who you're talking to. I know it took me a while to get used to looking there. lol
Hello Turquoise,
With Debra's help, now I know again that your real first name is De'Andrea.

Thank you very much Debra!
This information was very helpful to me!

Maxi is just beautiful. I just want to come and see her. I love all Toos.
Maxi is looking good and sure is one lucky bird! I have a free flying U2 and when Amigo gets his spray/hose bath in the tree, he exhibits this type of behavior of rubbing his wings on the wet leaves and his face among the wet leaves. I wonder if Maxi is also trying to groom herself upon the sheep's hide?
Thank you Kim!
Yes, my Maxi is beautiful and also very sweet. I love her so much!
But your Mani is very beautiful too Kim! And probably very sweet too.
Yes, like you, I'm have developprd a passion for Cockatoos.
Maxi is my only cockatoo thaugh. I do have other birds though.
Among others a Double Yellowheaded Amazon named Beertje, a very talketive CAG named Alex, a Jenday Conure named Jopie and a Greencheek Conure named Kiwi.
I see you live in Levisburg, PA. What state stands PA for?

Hello Mare,
Good to hear your U2 Amigo is fully flighted too.
But when he is outside, in the tree where he gets his spray/hose, I guess he's wearing a Aviator Harness or so?
Funny you recognize Maxi's behaviour in Amigo's behaviour after he had that spreay/hose, when he starts to rub his face among the wet leaves.
Maxi grooms herself very well and you might be right. She might see this sheep-rubbing as another way to groom her feathers.
She really loves to do it as you can see at the video!
I see you live in the Sierra Foothills. Where is that? My guess is at California, but I might be totally wrong.
I do follow your story about Amigo. I loved what happened at the third day but I'm sure your husband didn't. LOL!

Hi Rita! Wonderful video! Our U2 is obsessed with blankets like this, he will rub all over them and eventually tent them up and climb underneath! The only bad part is, he gets very protective of HIS blankets and will get crabby if you try to touch them :P Also, PA stands for pennsylvania,US :)
Hello Sara,
Thank you for your reply and compliment about my video of my U2 Maxi with the sheepskin.
How funny your U2 is very obsessed with blankets etc. and even climbs undernearth.
Maxi loves to climb under the blanket when I lay at my couch watching TV covered under a blanket.
I guess the fact that your U2 gets protective of HIS blankets might be caused by the fact that he is a male. My Maxi is a female.
Judge from your signature I see that you do have a wonderfull flock Sara!
Thanks for letting me know that PA stands for pennsylvania, US.
There are so many states in the US, that it's hard for me to recognize them all from the 2 letters used in the zippcode.
I know many, but not all.
I've just sent you a Facebook Friendship Request Sara! I hope you will accept it. I'm not that active at Facebook though. Lack of time.

Rita

He likes to roll around in the wet leaves and it reminds me of your Maxi on the sheep skin!

Hello Mare,
Thank you for these two photo's of your wonderful U2 Amigo.
Yes, I can see at the 2nd. photo that Amigo is rubbing his wings on the wet leaves and his face among the wet leaves! He enjoys doing that!
Wow, so he is fully flighted and outside doesn't wear a harness. That's really amazing Mare.
In fact, that is perfect. Fantastic! I love it. How did you teach Amigo to "freeflight"?
Aren't you afraid he might fly away then? I would be afraid that might happen.
I had an awful day today.
I had to deside to let my tortoiseshell-cat Trijntje been put to sleep this morning because she had a seizure of being unable to breath.
It was scarry and heartbreaking. My sweet beautiful girl Trijntje had a tumor in her nose-bridge and I knew that I would loose her soon.
She was just 13, so not that old. Within 1 1/2 years I've lost all my 3 cats, red tomcat Thijs, white deaf tomcat King and now my female cat Trijntje too.
Greetings from the Netherlands,
Rita
Oh Rita, I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet kitty :(. It's hard losing animals that have become family. :th_hug8:
Thank you very much Mare.
Trijntje was born the 12th. of July 2000 and I had her since the 1st. of september 2000 when she was just 7 weeks.
I adopted her to get overb the pain in my heart I had because of loosing my mother at the 20th. of March 2000.
