I have read about this before. I never have nice enough feathers that would look worthy of something of that nature. My birds wear their feathers well before losing them. :( It is a very interesting read about a good reason to donate if you have lots of feathers.

I wonder what they mean by parrot feathers. I mean, budgies are parrots but I'm sure they don't have need for feathers that small. I doubt my tiel and quaker feathers are what they would want. Besides, Little Amber weaves them under her hut for some reason. lol

I just finished reading some history about this tribe. It is very interesting to read. Deb. they do want the small feathers too. Anyone that has feathers lying around and does not know what to do with them please consider this tribe. thanks [Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]

Steve What a bounty of feather beauty you have there. Yes, they are in need. I put a new link in my previous posting. Which birds are the feathers from?

I do not think one can ship feathers into the US from other countries.

I've gotten feathers from Canada and the UK before.

In the writings about this tribe it was written they do not want feathers from outside of US. Maddy I will have to look up the regulations on receiving feathers. Thanks for your input.

I have a ton from Rosie so I will send them.

Maddy - are you still looking for feathers? If so let me know what size you need and I can send you some as well.

Don't be silly! I am more than happy to share. Rosie molts all year so we have new discarded feathers of all sizes on a daily basis. I have actually been throwing some away lately bc I just don't know what to do with them.

Maddy I did find out that feathers can be mailed to the US as long as they are not from a country that has or had outbreaks of Avian flu.

Will do, Dianne! Being part Indian, myself, I have an affinity with bird feathers :)

Mina is molting now I will start saving them again. I think I have 2 tail feathers somewhere. I know I'm weird they are to beautiful to throw away. If someone can use them what an honor.

I received a beautiful thank you card from this tribe in which was written "your bird's feathers will be treated with dignity and respect" This is a much better way to use those moulted bird feathers just sitting around you home.
