Has anyone read this book? What were your thoughts if you have? I'm reading it now and it is very informative....discusses from A-Z on most everything required to enjoy parrot ownership. I have read his blogs on his website and he has some amazing info. Training is a big part of the book but not all. Although he knows his stuff regarding training.

I have two copies of the guide to a well behaved parrot but I don't think that's the same book...

What I like about it is it targets parrot ownership with the whys and why nots of behaviour modification/training etc. Basically targetted for the everyday bird owner which compramizes 99 percent of bird owners. He doesnt focus on one area....but looks at a whole bunch of different areas that the average owner will experience. He brings things together nicely by explaining the "why".
I have been on his site for a few years and the book is just a natural extension. Very informative, and easy to understand.

I love the guy's website and blog and his book. That book is awesome. Some people don't like that he limits his bird's food, but everybody has something to say about everything. His birds are healthy and happy. I LOVE this guy and his stuff.

I have been on his site a couple of times. I did read a major portion of it. I don't have his book. Sara I also have the book you have and it isn't the same as the one Wayne is talking about. I don't really have any opinion as yet about him or his training as I have not taken the time to absorb what he has on his site. I was on it checking out specific things I was looking for info on and his site came up in my search.

I really like this guys book and work with my parrots in much the same way. Limit feeding has proven to be key in longevity and good health in pet parrots. Most if not all our birds are over weight and under exercised.

I have this book, and it fills an important niche: what parrot ownership is like. Michael has a way of writing that cuts through the nonsense for me, and Michael's site has lots of fantastic material that helped me adjust my thinking around training. The result for me has been a bird who is confident, well-socialised and not over-bonded, so I'm definitely a fan of his stuff.
