Here are some photos my Auntie sent me of wild sulphur crested cockatoos, galahs and rainbow lorikeets :)
She lives a couple of hours away from me - out of the 3 we only get galahs where I live so its always nice to see these :)

Great shots, its amazing how they will keep coming back from the first time you feed them they all know where to come for free food.:th_hehe:

Yes very true Steve lol... I've been looking for a while for a bird feeder for my place but I'm picky and want something specific lol, so at the moment the most I see are birds just flying past :(
One thing with my aunty that annoys me though is she refuses to buy different food for the lorikeets, so they eat seed when they visit :( they seem to be a less common visitor than the toos though so I'm hoping its not too damaging for them in such small quantities...

Oh, wow! That's simply amazing! As I was looking at those pictures, I was trying to calculate the cost of feeding the wild birds. I bet it's more expensive to feed those birds than it is to feed my much smaller ones.

Its actually no where near as expensive as you'd think - in my Aunties case at least, since she only feeds a wild bird seed mix which she buys in 20kilo bags for $20 ;)
The area she lives in has plenty of natural food available too though so I'm hoping they don't only eat the seed lol

That's awesome! I'm jealous, I'd love to have those birds in my yard!

Not the best quality photos (taken just before a storm hit and they were at the very top of the tree so had to zoom in a lot) but here are some yellow tailed black cockatoos out the front of my place yesterday :)

We have a flock of 5 that come every morning and afternoon without fail, but they tend to stick to the other side of the trees or in the middle of them :/ ruining my plans of taking lots of photos of them lol...

This also isn't a great shot but a long billed corella having a drink in the cows water trough behind our house :)

Oh My!!! I am like Terri, I'd be in birdie heaven if I had parrots like that in my trees! And aid be like when I was a child chasing every critter I could get close yo trying to catch it & have a new pet. I'd be trying to catch every kind of Too or other parrot for my own flock!!

We don't have much in way of color to our birds in my part of Texas. Buzzards, Starlings and Sparrows are not so colorful!! LOL
