Macaw scritches

In my neck of the woods a green wing macaw costs roughly $11,000, so needless to say I don't get to see many lol... Went to a pet shop today that I hadn't been to in years though, and was quite happy to see that they still have their macaw 'Max'! He isn't for sale, belongs to the owner of the store and goes home each night...
I can't believe how thick their feathers are! It took a fair bit of effort to give him scritches lol but he definitely seemed to appreciate it once I eventually got to his head ;)
Now who wants to loan me $11,000? :P

He's a cutie! green wings are about 1600-2000USD for a baby here, still out of my price range either way! I have to admit though, if I ever got a macaw it would have to be a hahns, I love the mini macs :P

They are truly beautiful birds !!! Ive had Ruby since Sept,Im amazed at how big they are.

Oh wow it is a small world hey! Lol! As I said, macaws really aren't common over here, I guess we get excited when we do see them lol...

Max is definitely a gorgeous boy! Green Wings are my favorite of the macaws. I couldn't hardly wait to get my Ruby Jewel!!

But so many people say Green Wings are huge compared to the B & G's and Scarlets. I don't see it in Ruby Jewel. She is a little larger than Roscoe, but not decidedly that much more. Maybe she is not what most call the giant GWs. Doesn't matter to me, I just find it interesting that I don't see a much bigger bird. Now personality wise, she is totally different from Roscoe. There is a huge difference between the two personalities.
