Rosie has been acting as if she has something stuck in the top of her beak. I am not sure if that is even possible. She has been grinding, stretching her face and putting her foot in her beak. I am not sure if there is anything I can do to help or if i should be worried.

I took a video after I put her in for bed tonight. She was distracted by me recording but it kind of shows what she is doing.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Is she eating and drinking normally? Have you looked into her beak and around and under her tongue?

Yes, she has been eating and drinking. I haven't looked in her beak - I'm not sure what to look for?

Unfortunately I can't view the video. My Firefox has been disabling the plug-ins for some videos lately and this one seems to be on their list!:tmsmakesme:

I can't help you with experiencing this with my macaws either. Hope you can find out what is bugging her. Wished I could help, but I am useless to you on this one. :(

Watch what she does with her tongue... such as which areas of her oral cavity she may be rubbing or licking. Whatever it is may simply pass. Her actions in your clip didn't appear to suggest huge grounds for concern to me, merely that she may be experiencing a moderate amount of discomfort. Zaf gets hula tongue (and jaw) at times and it always goes away after a bit.

De'Andrea: You should still be able to click on an option within the red and gray warning dialog box that pops up (for the "vulnerable" flash plugin) to get a clip to play for any particular session.

Tony nothing shows up in place of the videos affected. It gives me a blank white shaded area in place of the video. It has done this with videos I tried to view on the youtube site as well. Everything on the page will load & show up, except the video itself even when I reload several times. I have been having trouble for awhile with Firefox and parts of my facebook too. My chat box and who is online never comes up and if I have a pm and go to view it, the page is blank. I reload and it is still blank no matter how many times I reload. So I tested both by using Explorer as my browser and the videos worked and the facebook chat, plus my messages loaded up. So something within Firefox is blocking it. Firefox used to block/disable my Java I needed to run photobucket no matter how much I downloaded the newest version and I could not use my account. I would have to go to Explorer to use it as well. I just don't like Explorer or how it's pages look and it takes forever to load and use. That is the issues I am having with Firefox!!

Sorry Kendra for getting off topic here. Hope Rosie doesn't have anything bad in there when you look. Hugs to both of you. I will be out of the house for a few hours. I will be checking in here hoping for good news when you check her out.

Ok, I have checked and it looks ok. The inside of her upper beak opening is pink/red, but I am guessing that is normal?
She does keep rubbing her tongue over the inside top of her beak. Not as much this morning thank goodness.

I had my husband video a very short clip of the inside of her beak. Neither Rosie or Jef have much patience. ;) Figured you guys would know better than me. I apologize for being a neurotic parrot mommy.

Kendra: from what I can see in the new clip, she looks fairly normal. Maybe her tongue was a bit itchy from something she contacted. Maybe she found a pepper particle that was extra potent. I'm betting it will simply pass. If in doubt, though, please take her to see your avian vet.

Keep us posted.

Thanks Blanca. She seems to be back to normal. So much so that I actually forgot all about it. Thank goodness!!
