I saw this on Craigslist and it definitely made me wanna cry. God bless this person! When I typed in "parrot" and searched Craigslist, after about 3 Hynacith macaw scams, I saw this! The main pic is a white bellied caique, so of course I clicked it. This is awesome.

That is a very well written and truthful article. I like how the author touched on all the important things new and repeat parrot owners need to consider when cruising the want ads for more birds.

Thanks for sharing this with everyone here Jade. :goodjob: I hope that everyone who reads it on CL really takes the time to digest the meaning behind the message.

I'm up to 9 now. I adopted a 14 yr old TAG two weeks ago. I'm so glad my small rant has connected with so many people.

Jade I am unable to register on the other site you sent me. Please inform people that there are lots of breeders in Kansas and two rescues not to mention many people who do rescuing and rehoming from their homes. We must band together to help our feathered friends. I could send you loads of pictures of people's "bird rooms". Bird lovers are a bit coo coo :)

Hi Kathy P, this is your article Jade posted here? It is very good and we are very pleased to have you as a flock member. :ygg:

We have lots of those 'Coo Coo' bird lovers here too. I could name a nice list of them, but I will let you meet them yourself. I look forward to hearing more about you and all your fabies. And congrats on your new TAG. :th_hug8:

I don't have a special room dedicated to my birds. They live in the same big room I am always in when up~~it's called my living room/den. I have moved lots of furniture out so their large enclosures fit. I didn't use the stuff anyway!! :th_LOL:

Hi and thanks for the warm welcome. We raised 5 sons so as they started moving out we decided the birds needed more freedom. We have one room that is 100% free flighted. My 5 smaller birds are never caged. That room has become bird safe which seems similar to baby safe. My 4 Greys have their own room but I do close their doors at night. They all seem to have attitudes at times. :)

Yay!!!! Thanks for joining!!! Haha I'm always on this site and I did so much research here before I bought my caique. Haha The other site is parrotforums... Maybe you can google it or something? I dunno. Lol There's a lot more comments on that forum than this one about how awesome you are. :P I'm serious! I was so excited when I saw this. I'm in Nebraska visiting a friend and was cruising Craigslist to see what kind of bird stuff they have here and saw your ad and was thinking how AWESOME it was!! Had to tell my bird buddies haha

Glad you can join us Kathy! Love what you have posted on facebook. I'm inclined to do something similar for our area as so many birds go from home to home to home.
