Who among you regularly purchases products from My Safe Bird Store? What has your experience been like?

I've only shopped there once and that was to redeem a gift certificate from Amanda (gemini_84), for the winning photo that month. I was very happy with the experience, they put a little ribbon around each item I ordered and even sent some extra little fun shredding toys (and some little chocolate candies, for me!), I thought that was nice :). I would definitely shop there again!

I've shopped there but am not a regular customer. They are great to work with and they give each order a personal touch. I like that.

I've actually driven there twice....once for a cage and the second time because I had so many birdie bucks from buying the cage that it was worth the drive. I have ordered from them a few times and have been extremely pleased. In fact, I'm expecting a big box o goodies today.

I forgot to mention the free shipping for order over $74.99. Also, the food Josie eats is much cheaper if I buy in bulk from them. They also have good mixes that she likes that I cannot get where I live so for me, this is my best bet.

I have purchased bird items and bird food for a few years now and the only complaint is that they seem to be sold out frequently on items I want. Otherwise I would rate them a 9 out of 10. Customer service is wonderful and shipping time is very fast. Packaging is more than good. They will respond to phone calls or e mails promptly. Some items I purchase on amazon because I am a prime member and there are no shipping charges on the item purchased.

I WANT to shop there, but unfortunately their shipping costs to Australia are waaaaay too high :( for $50 of smallish toys and toy parts, it was going to cost $150 in postage

I use them regularly. I love mysafebirdstore! They ship super fast, always have coupons and Kathy writes a note and sends extra little goodies for Rosie and her peeps. I generally go between mysafebirdstore online and Bird Paradise in person.

Anita, are you talking about mysafebirdstore or Bird Paradise? I only ask bc I once tried to drive to their address and it was residential. When I rechecked the site, it said they are online only and not to go to the mailing address.  That was about a year ago, so if they now have a brick and mortar store I am psyched. Bird Paradise is in Burlington, which isn't far from the Delran address for msbs and offers bird bucks. I will be psyched to check out msbs if they are open to the public. Bird Paradise is great - we got Rosie there - but options for browsing new toys are always nice. 

Tonkatiel - I feel your pain! I wanted to order a birdy hammock from Australia that I saw on another board. The shipping costs were just too high so I keep hoping they will sell one in the US. International shipping is a killer.

I just checked my shipping label and the address says Burlington nj. When you go to the bird paradise website and click to shop online, it takes you to the my safe bird store website which is the e-commerce site that bird paradise has. The first time that I ordered online, I had a problem so I called the # and it was answered by bird paradise. So, in answer to your question, bird paradise is the brick and mortar shop for my safe bird store.

Everything I got today was all wrapped really nice and had ribbons on it. They even sent a Christmas stocking for Josie and a few extra toys along with some candy for the kids. Shipping was super fast as I ordered Sunday night and got it today. Granted I'm only about 2 1/2 hrs away. I hope this helps.

How nice is that? I bet Josie loves her stocking!!

Ok, I see the confusion. Bird Paradise's online store is mybirdstore.com and mysafebirdstore.com is a different site & business. Still in NJ, just a bit of a distance away. Checked the site and still no b&m store. I guess they don't need one & BP is learning some customer service from them. (Nice packaging and little gifts). :)

Thank you for the info and for checking Anita!! I appreciate you going to the trouble for me. :)

Actually, I was under the impression (after a conversation with the people at bird paradise) that bird paradise and my safe bird store are one in the same. They just have different web addresses. Perhaps the address for msbs is the address of the warehouse? I know when I bought the cage, I was told on the phone to call the morning I was coming so they could have it brought over from the warehouse which I believe she said is about 20 minutes away.

I have ordered from My Safe Bird Store a few times. I had a very good experience with them. A while back I ordered a fairly large shipment and forgot to put the code in for a discount they had at the time. I didn't notice I'd forgot til I was on their Facebook page reading about it. I wrote on the post how I missed out on the discount and had just sent my order in that day, but would make sure I paid better attention the next time. One of the lady's who runs the store wrote back they would take care of it and sure enough a week later I had a $16.00 refund in my PayPal account from them. So I say that is very good customer relations. :th_biggrin:9

Anita, I love your UPS driver. Mine just leaves my packages at my gate now that our front yard is fenced even when I'm home! My dogs are inside my house or in the back yard. He used to leave the packages on a table in the front yard. Thank goodness we live in the country with very good neighbors. No one bothers anything!

I need to order moth traps and may just use MSBS because they have the brand I like. I may just order a few things (gotta sneak this past Jerry -- lol).

I received a package from UPS the other day when it was raining. My driveway holds water so the UPS driver put my box in a plastic bag and left it on the inside of my fence. Um, I had to go traipsing through overgrowth to get it because the driveway had a couple inches of water in it. lol. I really don't blame the guy. Who would want to drive through a lake to drop off a package?

Upon inspection of the structure and web forms on both websites, there are indeed striking similarities. They appear to be closely connected to me. The sites could be separate interfaces to the same store, or separate stores with a common owner, or perhaps they are separate stores who share the same webmaster. In any case, it's interesting :)

EDIT: Checking into it a bit, it appears the connection is that both businesses use the same e-commerce/site-building software (fortune3.com) and that their websites are hosted at the same data center. That may be the extent of it.

Kathy, owner of MSBS, is fantastic and will stand behind anything she sells so if there is a problem she will work things out with/for you. In this day and age it seems like Customer Service is something that is not out there as much as it was years ago.

I haven't looked at either but I'll get onto it now, thanks :)

I gave up a while ago and just started buying toy parts from ebay (which I'm reasonably sure are originally from my safe bird store, just a little more expensive), none of the toys I make are overly exciting lol, but the fids seem to like them ;)

if your birds enjoy them thats all that matters, they dont have to look the part as long as they do their job and the birds have fun. just think in the wild they only play with what they can find and there is no toy store out there for them, only nature lol.

Have never actually ordered (since I'm in the UK) but have gotten in touch regarding a potential order and her customer service was great :). Prices seem a little steep, but I'm used to UK stuff, so... not sure if it's fair to compare. :)

Mina and I shop at my safe bird store every month we love love love it! She loves the mix of their food. It's her morning snack. I buy it by the pound. It has no peanuts. So that is great and hardly any little seeds. Lots of unsulfered fruit and veggies and nuts. Good mix. Plus toy parts. She is a foot toy girl and will not play with things that hang in her cage. They have a huge selection of SAFE stuff for that. It does come very quickly that is for sure I was almost out of Harrison's and had my whole order in 2 days. Did I mention I love it?

Neat looking toys Mina has there, Kim! You did a great job and very unique ones at that. They have such fun things to choose from and darn good prices. It is the online store I shop mostly. My other one is drfostersmith.com they have good prices on most items. I will be ordering a cage from them soon. :)
