Does anyone know what kind of bird this is? I was guessing magpie?

Yes, it looks like a Magpie. We have lots of those here!

That is so dangerous as we all know. Bird could suffer a loss of a limb or two.

I've never seen a bird actually want to play with a puppy like that. I agree that it is dangerous, but I'm unsure of whether or not the human could have stopped it short of putting the puppy inside and leaving the bird outside.

Yes, very dangerous for the bird! I found it fascinating, also, how the bird was obviously enjoying the play! I wondered if this was a bird that grew up with these folks and dog, sure looks like it!

Drats the luck~~I tried & retried to load this link like 4 times and I can't get my internet to bring the actual video up. It gives me all the adds, comments and other stuff all around where the video should go, but no video is showing up. My internet has been unstable tonight, probably due to all the freezing rain and negative temps we are having this weekend. I will come back to it & try again later or tomorrow. :(

Magpies are in the same family as crows and ravens. All 3 have been filmed playing with wolves in the wild.

I believe I've seen that, with the ravens, (on tv), Shelly. This bird is around the same size as a raven.

Wow, never seen the likes of this before. That bird actually loves that dog. What a message that speaks about getting along with other "races".

Isn't this bizarre!? Not just races but species of animals! Most birds would not get close to this situation and for me, anyways, to see it happen two times is TRULY bizarre!!

That video was amazing. I was worried about the bird though. But it seemed to be enjoying the play from what I can tell.

Scary, but cool. Some people have them as pets, my birds are more likely to bite the daylights out of my dogs.
