I will be getting a female EB from Chipper's breeder on Nov. 30 this month. She will be a yellow faced blue and 100% parent fed. This breeder is in charge of the primates at the D/C zoo and has little time to hand feed but he does handle the babies. He is even going to deliver her to me as our working hours do not match. He has family very near where I live. So my next job is to think of a sweet name for her and seek you suggestions. Some of the names I have thought of so far are Sassy, Opal, Lovee & Holly. No pics yet. After I get some suggestions from you will put up a voting place. Thanks everyone! :cheerful:

14741475The very second I saw her I said she is so beautiful! I need a name that reflects beauty and female. Sassy may not be so good.

She's beautiful! My first thought after looking at her was Rainbow.

After a great deal of thinking I am going to name her Daizy pronounced but not spelled like the flower. It seem to flow better and the boys will be able to say it. Here is a better pic of her face but had to do it fast. 1476

She is beautiful Dianne. My first thoughts on a name for her was Bluebell, but I like Daizy:)

Oh yes Chipper and Gypsy fly where they want except wherever my cat is located. I usually put kitty in the bedroom. My guys have perches in the bathroom for landing and they love looking out to the birdfeeder where the wild ones are. Daizy has never flown out of a cage yet so that will be one of my priorities (safe flying). First priority of course is trust building and getting used to hearing and seeing me. I touch her cage several times a day so she gets used to me hands a bit. She is only 7 weeks old now, but eating just fine. 2 weeks out of the nest box.

Changing the spelling to Daisy. Did not like it with a Z. She is really coming around. Saw her eat for the first time this evening. She is not too good with navigation in the cage because she will jump across the perches to get to the other side of the cage instead of stepping on them. She gets to the bottom of the cage and tries to fly up again instead of using the ladder. The ladder use will not take much more. Best thing is she lets me touch her head and scratch. Neither one of my boys will let me touch them. Next on the list is step up and safe flying. :th_Budgie:

Congratulations on your new sweety bird, Daisy! I love her name! The name Sassy fits my Goffin's girl, to a tee, sometimes I wish her original owner had named her something more like Sunshine or Sweety, you see what I'm getting at?

How'd the flight training go?
