November Photo Competition (Jubilee)

OK folks, it is time to get the November Photo Competition underway.

The subject matter chosen by Judi (JudiNH) for the November competition will be: ~~JUBILEE!~~A photo of your bird showing an incredible zest for life....enthusiastically and exuberantly doing something they love...and showing the world how happy they are to be alive!

The prize for this month's competition winner will be donated by Judi and will be a gift certificate/voucher from her favorite bird site: MySafeBirdStore. A very nice prize to win and your parrots will thank you many times over should you win this for them!

The rules are pretty simple:

1. Only one entry per member per competition.

2. Please include a little info and names about your choice for JUBILEE along with the photo. It will be used
to identify your entry on the poll along with your username. Also please give a little detail as to why you chose the subjects in your photo to best describe your idea of JUBILEE!

3. No copy write photos. Please make sure you are the owner of
the photo you enter.

4. Please, no photos that clearly endangers anyone or animal in any way that may be in your entry photo.

5. All photos to be entered in the competition need to be posted in this thread.

6. And the most important rule of all~~Lets Have Fun!!!~~

The competition starts today, the 1st of November and runs til the 21st of November.

The 22nd of November a poll will be added by Blanca with all of the photos in order of their posted date.

The poll will run for one week and will close on the 29th of November, unless otherwise noted.

I will announce the winner of the competition and post the winning photo on the 30th of November.

The winner of this competition gets to choose the subject/theme for the December Photo Competition.

Mare your photo of Amigo thoroughly enjoying himself is truly a great example of Jubilee with his exuberant zest of the welcomed rain shower, even if it was man made and came from a hose.:th_biggrin:

Well here is my entry for this month's competition of Jubilee~~A zest for life~~

This is my Roscoe doing what he does best~~Spread his gorgeous large wings and hang upside down. Roscoe does not have to have any reason to hang upside down & spread his massive wings. It is just one of his absolute pleasures of being a macaw~~A Monkey with Wings~~He is a big show off and loves to preform his zest for life for my camera.

He was thoroughly enjoying a spray shower from my pump spray while he hung from his enclosure's wire top by one foot in this photo. I have many photos of this boy with his wings spread, front and back showing. I'm considering making a thread dedicated to his wingspreads.:th_biggrin:

Alrighty everyone!! Where's all the photo entries for this month's competition? We have had this going for 10 days now and all we have are 3 entries? Come on ya'll can't tell me that only 3 of us on this forum have exuberantly happy birds in our lives! I know each and everyone of you has some photo you can enter and you just might have that winning one we are all waiting to see.:th_biggrin:

Remember this competition closes on the 21st. So get those entries in!! We want a big turnout to vote on!!! Just about everyone on the earth has a phone with a camera in it these days. So even if you have a fancy camera you still have no idea how to use ( I'm speaking from experience on this one~tee-hee), grab your phone & catch you fabie in a happy mood and show him/her off!! :th_dancing:

Looks like no one wants to participate in the photo competitions any longer. This is the lowest number of participants we have had since we started these competitions in July. Please folks, lets all participate. it is fun even if you don't have the winning entry. And you will never know if your photo and bird is indeed the winner if you never post it. :(

Such a sad thing to waste, but I for see us discontinuing this competition if it doesn't pick up any interest. I can't understand how anyone here would not love to win a gift certificate/voucher from a bird site like My Safe Bird Store.

So I beg of all of you, if you do not want to see this competition disappear into the archives~~Get you photos in by midnight on the 21st!!!!!! :th_hug8: You have 9 days to make a difference in this month's competition and guarantee fun things like this are here to stay!!:th_biggrin:

Judi we haven't disqualified anyone who won the previous month if they want to participate and submit an entry. I personally feel it is as much fun entering as it is winning, so I didn't stipulate a time out for winning. We have asked that the person donating the present month's prize refrain from entering in the same competition. So that would be the reason you can't enter this time. :th_biggrin: Next month it is 'No holds barred' for you again!:th_hehe:

I too hope more people will enter, Judi. I would hate to see this competition disappear. And in my previous post I did not mean the present competition would be discontinued if we do not get more entries. I meant to say in the future we may have to discontinue the Photo Competition if no one wants to participate. Three entries out of over 300 members is a very sad sight to see. It breaks my heart to think we may not have this to look forward to each month. :(

One week left to get your entry for the Jubilee Photo Competition in. Looks like it is going to be a three way race since that is all the participation we have had for this month. This is definitely not a hard photo to get. All of us have exuberantly happy birds, I know I've seen ya'lls photos in other threads. Any one of those photos I have already seen of happy excited about life parrots would look so good here on this competition.

Love the 'Coconut Hat' on Mango, Tiffany! Such an adorable show of exuberance for his toy. Thanks for entering Mango and his favorite toy, it definitely makes the voting much harder to decide now. :th_biggrin: By the way I have half of that toy here too. Angel tore the top half off and ignored the bottom half, so I put it on Leyla Belle's play perch for her treat cup. She takes very good care of it. LOL

Terri, Tequila loves to pose for you! That is such a cute photo!! Well by my time zone (Central ST) the competition is now closed. But...since we have folks from many regions and countries and since I am not the one who adds the poll and officially closes the competition~~I would venture a guess if anyone still wants to add their entry, it WILL be counted in the morning when Blanca comes over to do her great work of gathering all the entries for this latest competition!:th_wink:

I want to personally thank each and everyone who entered this month. We have a grand total at this time of 8 entries and that is awesome!! Next month lets try to double that!! All the entries are super great and show just how much our feathered kids have a zest for life no matter how young or old. Much of that comes from the love and care their parronts give them and the rest comes from just being a parrot in our crazy mixed up world we have provided for them.:th_hehe:

Today was the first I've been able to get online since last weekend, technology has not been my friend!!
