my GCC, beaker, came home with a pretty severe wing clip. he was hatched in april of 2013, and he came to us in august of 2013. how long (on average, i know that there are no absolutes) does it take for flight feathers to come in after this sort of thing? i really want to have the little guy be flighted.......it is so sad to see him try to fly but he just ends up on the floor.

for now we are giving him every chance to be out of his cage and to glide to the ground if he wants to. and if he decides that he isn't all that fond of flying, so be it, but i at least want him to have the chance...

thanks,

shel

I'm going to say five to six months. Mine molt a couple times a year and for them to have brand new feathers sometimes takes that long.

I would say around 6 months too.

I agree about 6 months. So it won't be long! :th_wink:
