I bet you buy big bags of bird seed! Totally wonderful feeding station.

Yes this is in my garden. A Christmas gift from my hubby.

Dianne -- We buy 50 lbs of seed at a time and for the new squirrel feeder we bough 20 pounds deer corn. That's on top of the ear corn we buy for them. All this will last about a month. lol

If you have a flour mill in your town , they sale millings. These are the grain and corn that for some reason was kicked out of the mill and not ground up. It makes great quail, turkey, deer, squirrel what have you feed!

Nice! Is it made to be a squirrel feeder?

It doubles as a bird feeder or a squirrel feeder. Since we're using loose corn, we have it set up as a bird feeder type thing.

That is so cute!! Love the way the squirrel is lounging on the top of the feeder.:th_LOL:

My friend in NY has bird & squirrel feeders. The squirrels don't always like to stick with their own feeders. So every time I see a cute photo on FB, I send it to her with a funny caption I add about her starving her squirrels. :th_hehe: She told me the raccoons stole one of her feeders a couple of weeks ago in the night. She found it a ways down a trail out behind her house.:th_loltears:

Yeah, I have trouble with raccoons too. I'm waiting for the night when they discover all that loose corn. They can already knock down that big feeder and unscrew the top to get to the seed. :th_shakehead:

My cats would love to sit in that window! I just have two on a hook right in front of this one window, another hook in front of the other with a planter and hummingbird feeder when in season. The cats love it and I have seen some interesting birds.

When I lived in Wisconsin we had a deer feeding station and allowed no hunting on our property. We could get 100 lbs. of cracked corn for only $5. It is so much fun to watch them. Do you see the same deer year after year? By the way thank you for taking care of the wildlife near you.

Debra do you have large flocks of Doves at your feeder like I do? They eat so much of the seed and are quite aggressive with the other doves.

I don't have large flocks I don't think. I have two kinds of doves, one larger than the other. I think the most I've ever seen at a time were 10 combined. With the amount of birds my feeders see, that's not that many and that was only once or twice. Most of my doves are ground feeders and help keep the ground seed under control (along with the squirrels and rabbits).
