Can macaws have aloe? I was just at the grocery store and saw aloe juice for sale in big jugs and was wondering if Josie can have a snippet from a plant?

OH yes the plant is fine to give birds as long as they do not get too carried away. [Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]

Thank you, Dianne for that info! I didn't realize aloe vera had that many qualities, good to know! I have several of these plants in my yard an will have to try them out on my next boo-boo :)!

i swear by Aloe , my oldest son at 4 years old came into the kitchen as the wife was turning around with a pot of boiling veggies, and yes it ended all over my sons face and body giving him 3rd degree burns, we were having a dinner party and one of the guess was a naturopath and just grabbed my son straight into her car straight to her place 4 min down rd, put him in a bath of aloe, with a couple other herbs, left him in for an hour, then covered his burns in the jell from the leaf, grabbed a couple of plants brought them back to our house and told us to apply it daily for two weeks, my son does not have one scare on his body from 3rd degree burns due to aloe, and since never been with out a plant for to long , and my birds dont mind it at all, its great for there digestive system. oh and by the way we did end up having dinner that night.
