September's Photo Competition (An Odd Perch)

We are now beginning our monthly photo competition for September. The winner of August competition, Maddy, has chosen the subject of this months competition to be An Odd Perch, one that your bird would not normally stand on. It would look better to have your bird standing on the perch at the time of the photograph. So put on your creativity hat and get that camera in shape.
The rules are pretty simple:

1. Only one entry per member, per contest.

2. Please add your bird's name along with the photo. It will be used
to identify your entry on the poll along with your username.

3. No copy write photos. Please make sure you are the owner of
the photo you enter.

4. Please, no photos that clearly endanger your bird in any way.

5. All photos to be entered in the contest need to be posted in this thread.

6. And the most important rule of all~~Lets Have Fun!!!~~

The contest starts today, the 1st of September and runs until the 22nd of September.

On the 22nd of September a poll will be added with all of the photos in order of their posted date.

The poll will close on September 29th.

I will announce the winner of the contest on September 30th. And I will contact the winner by pm to discuss the prize details with them.

The winner of this contest gets to choose the subject of our October photo competition.

This a monthly fun thing for all of us to get involved in. So, we are asking for volunteers to take a month and donate a prize to the winner. It is all right if you don't make crafts. The prize does not have to be handmade. Just think about something to give that you think another bird lover like yourself would enjoy getting for a job well done in photographing their favorite flock member!

I love all the entries so far. They are awesome examples of what fun things our feathered kids find to perch on to break up the monotony of everyday life in our homes.:th_dancing:

My flock aren't into perching on unusual things much, so I can't think of a good photo to enter. I bet a few of ya'll can find one in the old dust pile that would be a real winner. So, lets all take a reminiscing tour through our photo albums & find that winning pic! :th_cheer:

Also, I would like to ask if any of you would be willing to donate the next month's (Oct.) prize? We don't have a sponsor for a prize lined up yet. it does not have to be a handmade item. Amanda is giving a voucher to a bird site as her donation for this competition. Not asking for a large amount in vouchers if you would like to donate one. That can be your choice in amount. It is an excellent item for a prize and with some sites no need to worry about postage as it can be done online~~I think~~ I have read it can be done that way, haven't tried it myself. So, please everyone consider donating for next month or another month if that works better for you. :th_biggrin:

I don't believe I'm allowed to enter since I won last month, but I'm gonna post this picture here because I think it's hilarious! :th_biggrin: The fan is Bella and Mione's favorite perch. Don't worry, it's never on when they are out, and once I found out they liked to perch there I cleaned all the dust off. This picture was taken the first time she perched there. :P

Maddy, I don't recall my putting anything in the rules about not being able to enter if you have already won. So I say your entry counts! We have been refraining from entering if we donate the current month's prize.

Love all ya'lls entries. I am at our in service place now. Will be going in in a few mins. 3rd day, one more & I'm done for this year!! Will be glad to be back on the forum on a more regular basis. Good luck to all who entered.

If I owned a real dog like that, I would go nuts with all that hair! :th_LOL: That is the closest thing we will have for a dog for awhile. We want to get another but are waiting for both kids to be old enough to take care of it!

OK, here is my entry for this month's photo competition. Since my feathered kids don't get to perch in odd places, this is the best I could find in my backlog of photos. He is actually hanging from a piece of rope by one claw while enjoying a shower from a pump spray bottle.
