I am so lucky because a beautiful brown spider chose my bathroom window to build a large web. Caught him in the sunshine today from inside so you can see the web in progress. Sorry if you are afraid of them.1191

LOVE spiders! Thank you for the picture. I am working on a stained glass right now that is a spider web with clear textured glass and a beaded spider.

Spider woman left me last night sometime. She was fun to watch, especially from her underside. I watched her devour prey and mend the web in places. Did you know that only the females make webs?

No I didn't know that. How interesting. Not a big fan of spiders here though. I call my hubby to get them for me while I stand as far away from them as possible.

I can never understand why some people are afraid of them. If I even mention the word spider to one of my daughters she gets the hives.

Awesome photo Dianne! It looked like an Orb Weaver somewhat like the ones I have all over my yard out here at the lake. I am forever walking into one of their webs in the dark when I am out & about in my yard in the wee hours of the morn.:th_LOL:
Luckily Orb Weavers will run to the top of their webs when a 'prey' much too large for them to devour stumbles into their webs. (Humans!!) :th_hehe: They make their webs in late evening & leave it during the day if the sun is shining on it. We have more than once carried one who decided to make a web on our car to work with us. One rode for a month back & forth. It would hide & ride under the passenger mirror, then build her web during the night. Once we got up to speed headed home, she would hide under the mirror again.:th_biggrin:

This spider was in the center of the web for about 48 hours and did not seem to move at all during that time. I kinda miss watching spider woman.

I can only imagine how the insects feel when they get caught. Least we can get out! Steve you have too many dangerous snakes in Aussie land for me.
