And of course the Jewel of my flock. :th_heart: Miss Ruby Jewel yesterday morning having a little fun in the sun and on her play perch preening. Then after her breakfast was served, she unceremoniously dunked the best pieces in her water bowl! She can only stand to be a lady for so long. :th_hehe:

Thanks Ashleigh. I always wanted a Green Wing form the first photo I saw one one. I love her colors too and by this time next year her feathers should be glowing after she moults all her duller baby ones. :th_biggrin:

She is so beautiful! :D
You can really so how much room your fuss have in their cages. Those dog kennels are great! I may try one of those for an outside aviary! Very nice!

Thanks everyone. Ruby Jewel's colors are beautiful. But, when has anyone seen a truly ugly macaw? OK, sometimes they look a bit raged & off if a plucker, but even those are gorgeous! It is what's inside of those plucked bodies' hearts that make up for the lack of colorful feathers.:th_heart:
Ruby Jewel will be much brighter when she goes through her first big moult. She does have a duller look to her feathers (not the sheen they will have) and quite a few stress marks on them. But, she did go through a traumatic experience with her Daddy bird and I can imagine the fear she still has about life at times. Especially when she has her 'Flash Backs'.
She fell or jumped off her play perch this evening just as I finished cooking supper. I was busy & not by her, so I didn't see if she jumped or not. She will jump off to get to the floor sometimes. So once she hit the floor (her missing wing part makes her off-balance when she does this) she took off running and I had to get in front of her to let her know I was there. She was just blindly running as if something pushed her off. Nothing did as there was no one or thing around her to do this but herself. I picked her up talked to her for awhile, she was leaning into me & was scared. At least this time she wasn't biting my arm as if I had done something like she does at times when she has her 'Flash Backs'. I put her on her supper play perch & sat down to eat. Well, she was not through getting consoled, so I ended up holding her for a good while before she was ok to go to her home for the night. She is still quite the baby & needs her cuddles when she gets scared.:th_hug8:
