View Full Version : Chip is trying to be friendly
Chip has been with us a little over a week, now, and is being kept in a cage in the living room area but just for sleeping. I let him out in the morn and is put in cage, covered, for the night. He LOVES Sassy's new cage and flys over to it many times during the day. The Sassy girl is trying to not be afraid of him, she will be out also and they got pretty close today, within a foot of each other and no bad vibes, just curiosity. I watch them closely but should I be afraid? They both fly and I'm hoping if someone got aggressive the other would be gone. I'm hoping they will develop a friendship, that would be good for both of them.

Mare do you have a signature? Lots of people here doing them now if you want a nice one. Blanca is so talented.
He likes us fine but ONLY if we are eating chips! He's pretty funny, in that way. He really isn't tame, as in stepping up or letting us get too close. He would rather fly off. If you offer him a tortilla chip, though, he'll fly right over! I am happy to see him and Sassy take notice of each other :)
Hi and no, Dianne, I don't have a signature. If you or Blanca or Maddy would like to take it on, I'll try and supply what's needed :)? Or whoever? I believe Shelly also is creative in the siggie department! Thank you to whoever wants to take it on :)
My husband and I were trying to come up with a name of a cross between a cockatiel and a Goffin's. His was a 'Go-cock'! Tiimmm...not acceptable! Mine was 'cockaffin". Any one else have a suggestion?

Glad to hear Chip is doing well. Sounds like he found a permanent home?:th_biggrin:
Chip is here to stay, Blanca :). He's really a sweet bird, just not hands on. His chirping is a relaxing reprieve from the big birds, ahhh...

Sounds like Chip has a girlfriend in his future. Or maybe a wife if they have little ones. :th_LOL:
That bird in the video resembles a Tiel more than a Goffin in my opinion. My choice for a name for the hybrid would be Tielafinn mainly because it rolls off the tongue easier then Gofftiel. :th_biggrin:

The video is a rose breasted crossed with a teil. I am sure there are goffin hybrids as well though. I sure hope your guys become friends. None of my guys will tolerate each other. :-(

Goff-a-tiel any better? :p
Edit: I also said in my head "cock-a-too, that's better! .... owait..." silly girl.
I like Goffatiel! I was also thinking Tielatoo! They are getting along well, not quite "buddies", but I'm not worried about them out together. I have a video I'll post soon :)

Mare just go to the signature forum and look at the samples of signatures. Pick the person you want to do one for you or we could all do one for you and you would have several. Also give us an idea of background if you have any request and post photos. thanks

Dianne, the post is old for the siggy request. I had made her a signature since then! :th_biggrin:
Mare - Glad things continue to go well with Chip! Would love to see a video!
