Well, Maynard biting me on occasion is nothing new. Over the past 5 years or so he's become fairly cage aggressive and lunges with intent when behind cage bars. Sometimes he catches me off guard and manages to sink his beak into a bit of flesh if I'm standing too close. But he's always sweet to me when I'm handling him/petting him etc. One thing that he has never done though is attack my feet when he's on the floor. Well, that all changed this morning. I happened to have bare feet at the time and Maynard literally ran up to my foot and bit my big toe... and ouch! He did it kind of hard. It was enough to draw blood at least. I'm not sure what he was thinking but he certainly got my attention ;)

Must get video next time!:th_LOL:

Ruby Jewel my only floor walker out of my birds loves to go after my toes. She will make a B-line right to them & of course I always wear my flip flops when in the house so she has plenty to grab. I tell her in a loud voice, "Not my toes!!" She looks up at me with a devilish grin to her beak & grabs them anyway. :th_eek:

What Maynard did yesterday morning wasn't cute at all... it was plain mean ;). All 4 of mine love to trek around on the floor.

Maynard is old, he's grouchy at times. Not to mention he's lived through a stroke, poor boy. Gotta' love his determination to live.:th_hug8:

I can relate. I'm old, I get grouchy myself, tho I don't go after anyone's toes.:th_LOL:

I used to blame it on PMS, but now I say I've earned the right to be grouchy for living so long!:ROFLMAODog:

OK, I do have a weird sense of humor. And that cancels out the grouchiness~~most of the time. :th_biggrin:

Ouch! My girl decided she wasn't stepping up from the foot last night and had to be toweled. Maybe something is in the air.

Maynard will always step up, no matter where he happens to be or what he's perched upon. That's one of the things he's always done for me with never an issue. He only lunges when he's not expecting I'll want him to step up, and most often when he's in his cage and the door is closed. But that's Maynard :th_biggrin:

i have a similar issue with bruno, but its only when im reclined on the lounge. the 3 amigos dont do the floor unless its to quickly grab something they want. if have my bare feet up on the lounge and bruno is in a playful mood he will walk across my leg and go nibble on my toes. i dont allow this cause im ticklish and dont want to hurt him

Sassy also has a toe thing going on but you can normally see it coming. One day, a couple years ago, my husband was sitting in the 'sky chair' on the deck talking on the phone and Amigo flew on to the railing, (hubs is looking the other way and didn't see him land), Amigo jumps down to the deck, quietly walks up behind and grabs my husband by his Achilles' tendon! Holy Moly! Ive never heard him scream that loud in my life! Poor guy, he limped for a week. Amigo was on the #*%# list for awhile after that!

Yes, Tony, It could have been worse, like severing a tendon, thankfully it didn't go that far. Amigo can be a sneaky little thing when he wants to be. He's gotten much better in that way, not as keenly territorial.

So you're saying ..... a rather large man weighing nearly 300 lbs running down the hallway in his Crocs being chased down by a psychodic Military Macaw is funnie?

That truly hurts my feelings. :th_chickendance:

Absolutely and the description that you have just added makes it even funnier! But then I have always had a bit of a warped sense of humor! :th_loltears:

I can totally see that happening to me. When I lived with my mother, she used to have a cat that would get mad whenever I would get home late at night. She would wait for me to close the front door, and then BANG, she would attack. Chasing me biting and scratching all the way down the hall to my room until I jumped onto my bed, swearing. I would then hear my mother laughing in the other room. I must have gotten my warped sense of humor from her. ;P
