Does anyone help you with all of your birds? I would be doing birdie clean up and feeding all day with 32. Do you breed them also? They are all so cute.

only the ones i like so yes i do, but have not named these ones as yet, and they have all settled in well, its funny how quick the teils pair up i had two spare females so got two males yesterday and this morning both are with the females at different ends of the avery ,and even the keets seem to have gone to the spare males.

Sounds great ,It makes things easier when they have a buddy . Is there a demand for breeding baby Toos there [ since there are so many wild ?] You must be feeling better from your surgery :)

that's what im afraid of.....so no more you hear me. i like living in civilisation and having some time to myself. you add yours in with mine, means more noise more time not to mention the space required for cages :th_omg:

Awesome colors in your parakeets. I love the large housing they have. They will be so happy in there!
It has to take a good while I would imagine taking care of all those & especially when they start raising babies. Will you be hand feeding any of these babies? I know here in the states budgies are not handfed very often, but cockatiels are. That has to be a tough job you breeders go through handfeeding all the babies in a season. Then it starts all over again. :th_LOL:
Amanda, my son & daughter-n-law say the same thing about my critters, "No more!!" "We are not taking care of them when you are gone!"

oh dont get me wrong, im looking forward to taking in his critters (i mean that in nicest way, im far from wishing him to an early grave) but when he originally asked me it was 6 ekkies and 2 snakes. the future hubby is not bird/ animal crazy like me. he lives the 3 amigos, and our kitty and woukd love snakes, but although he loves them now, he wasnt impressed that i ended up with prince and bruno....can you imagine the look on his face when the fateful day arrives and the truck arrives to drop off dads collection:th_omg:

:ROFLMAODog: but that's not fair, it may be years then maybe not, but you should be aloud to get more birds, what happens when oxy turns out to be female , more birds
Would you consider yourself a hoarder? Good Lord knows I have my hands full with two! My hubby has threatened to move if I brought another one home but I'm thinking of sneaking in a few finches, shhh!

no i would not call myself a hoarder, just some one that can never have to many birds, you have your cat people well im a bird person, but you have to remember the aviary birds do not get the attention my babies do, the most ive ever had i think was around about a 140 birds most of them parrots of one kind or another, i have been breeding for over 30 years, and if i could set it up again i would have 10 to 20 aviaries set up again, but even with my aviary birds i take a chair in there and can sit talking to them for hours, and i love how they talk back . when i bred lorries i had 17 breeding pairs and then there were my two baby lorries that lived inside. but even then i still had a dozen other breeds. i have a pet shop that use to call me in to sex all his lorries, and they say you need a vet , well we checked this out and out of 80 birds i got 80 right, so after that he never took his lorries to be sexed by a vet again.

I also needed a term for myself .I think hoarders are those who keep getting animals and not caring for them properly.I am far from that. What we have is called 'BIRD FEVER" :)
'Bird Crazy' might be a better term!! :th_hehe: :th_biggrin:
