I'm just curious as to who the oldest bird is. My oldest is Lucy and she's 18. I know there are birds who are older on here so lets give names and ages please.

Jack and Maynard are at least in their mid 30s. I've had them since 1981 and 1982, respectively. They're both wild caughts.

Zaf is 24 and Salsa is 5.

Spirit the TAG is at least 20 years old. He may be older as when you rehome most people down play the birds age and I was told 15 plus. The funny thing is is that a lot of birds show there age in there feet. Spirits feet where really bad, swollen and scaly when I got him. I started to rub coconut oil in his feet daily and now 5 years later he will ask for a foot rub and his feet look better then a younger bird!

Tony, when you say 'wild caught', do you mean that you caught them or did you purchase them from someone who did? I've never really heard that expression before. Thanks.

Shelly, I've heard the same thing told about women! Women show their age in their hands, dang it!!

I purchased Jack at a shopping mall pet store in 1981. I then purchased Maynard at a feed store in 1982 (to keep Jack company while I was at work). Jack still has his open SS quarantine station band from Florida. According to records, he arrived in Florida in 1980. At that time, many of the larger parrots for sale at pet stores had been captured from their native habitats and shipped in, since it wasn't illegal to import them back then.

Tequilas [Amazon] 30 plus years [wild caught ] feel hes quite a bit older . Belly and Pearl[ Toos]] are close to that age ,but Tequila acts way older than them.

Wow, we've got some pretty "old" birds. Well, I guess you could say "middle age" birds as 30 really is not old for those larger species.

Sparky my B and G is supposedly in er 20's and my R2 is in her late teens. I fostered a pair of BFA that were in their 40's and wild caught.
