I went to Bird Paradise in Burlington, NJ today to get Rosie some food and visit the birds. They had the most beautiful harlequin macaw there on consignment. She is two years old and her family is moving across the country and can't take her. Her name is Quinn and she has been there for about three months. She is a bit beaky which I guess scares most people. I took her around the store and hung out with her in the family room. Although she bluffs a bit and does grab with her beak, she doesn't apply any pressure. Such a sweet girl, she gave lots of kisses and just needs a good home.

I thought I would attach some pics I took just in case anyone in the area is looking for a new flock member.

I hope I am posting this in the right area.

On a side note, I just found out that Bird Paradise has a whole bunch of consignment birds not out in the store. I think they have another Harlequin, an amazon, a cockatoo and a slew of smaller birds. Might be a good thing to know since you need to ask to see a lot of the consignment birds.

I think I've seen her....do you need to pick her up from behind? I'm not sure of the name of the one we saw but she was very sweet. I wish we could take her but we aren't ready to add to the flock.

Kendra... posting about Quinn here is entirely fine. But I've copied your original post to the Adoptions & Re-homing section as well. It can't hurt for it to be in both places.

Quinn is indeed a beautiful bird!

You may have josiesmom. She stepped up from the front, but was hesitant at first. They had 3 Harlequins on consignment. One is one of the employees, and she took her back home. I believe the other Harlequin is named Harley, but I havent met get. Quinn has only been out in the main store for about a week, before then she was in the back.

Thank you plax!!

Gorgeous Girl!! :th_heart: Would love to have her. Don't live anywhere close to you & I am not ready for another large bird right now.

Thanks for sharing.:th_biggrin: There are lots of folks who might not have known about her & the other birds who might live close.

You never know I guess. She was sold to the original owners by Bird Paradise and her paperwork says she is a Harlequin. You can't see it in the photos, but she has really cool red and orange feathers on her face. She makes me think of Halloween, my favorite holiday. :)

She looks like a Harlequin to me. I wish it was a year from now. I would definitely consider her. I was tyring to decide between and b&g or a harlequin. But it's just too soon for me to adopt another Macaw. She looks like a sweetheart!

Thanks you for remembering me. I do think she looks like a great adoptee. She is unfortunately a bit too far outside or our range. One day we will come across a little one that is within our range though.

Again, I think its great that the family here thinks of each other when things pop up. THANK YOU!
