Savannah Wing Excercise Update

Some of you may remember that we believe that Savannah my have muscle atrophy in her wing due to being caged bound before she came to live with us. I don't think she can fly at the moment. Her left wing she wouldn't fully extend out.

Well the good news is, just after excercising with her about 5 times outside, she is fully expanding both wings out on her own. The first time I tried to get her to flap she stiffened up and was terrified. Poor thing. But she is getting better now.

This past Monday I had her at work and she began flapping on her own while outside of her cage and had her wings totally spread out! She's done it almost everyday this week on her own. I praise her a ton and tell her "show me big bird". She is loving the attention it brings!

She is so beautiful!! Her colors are amazing! I'm happy to hear she is progressing, great news!

Thanks Mare! The best part for me is she is doing on her own and seems to enjoy it. If she keeps this up everyday, she will build those muscles up in no time!

Savanah is gorgeous!!:th_hug8: And No I am NOT biased just because she is a Green Wing. No not by much!!:th_hehe:

That is wonderful news about her strengthening her wings & finding out what the are really for.

And, ummm yep she will be a good contender for the up coming photo contest. Boy an I glad I am not having to judge this contest! :th_biggrin:
