For anyone who may have seen my posts on other forums, you'd know I took in a 20(ish) year old Male GW Macaw back in March/April time frame.

He's had several extensive vet-visits due to what originally was thought to be an upper respiratory infection, or possibly Aspher. It turned out to be a strand of ecoli and the antibiotics we tried wouldn't work. He was under sedation for more x-rays of his sinuses and a sinus flush when he passed away. We don't know how long he had been ill, long before I got him in the spring. I know he had a good time when he was with me though, and I did the best I could by him. So now he's flyin high over the rainbow bridge.

He'll be missed.

I know you must be sad into your heart because you tried everything you could do for him. He really was a sick boy. At least he had some quality times with you. :th_sadhug:

Thank you everyone, he will be missed but he's in abetter place. My other macaw, Safira, picked up some of his screams so it'll be like he's still there. Unfortunately they were the loud screams, guess he had to leave me something to remember him by :)

I'm so sad to hear of Jeeves' passing. It's easy to see that you made every effort to help him and that he was quite loved. Each of these guys is such a unique personality so when we lose one of them it's a loss that's unequivocally irreplaceable. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you to realize that Jeeves is no longer part of your flock. I'm very sorry.

R.I.P. Mr. Jeeves!

It is really sad to lose one of these gorgeous birds & GWs are my favorite. That is so sweet that Safira lets you remember Mr. Jeeves with his scream.
